Description:
Sparky is one of the nicest young horses we have had in a long time! He has it all, looks, brains, talent, training, and plenty of heart. He may not be big, at 14.3hh, but he has a heart the size of a horse twice his size. Sparky is a flashy 6 year old roan paint (GRADE) gelding with a ton of shape and a cute head with a kind eye. He is extremely good minded and willing, and very kind, and is a favorite of all the little kids. He has never offered to buck, rear, bite, kick, or take off, and doesn’t have to be ridden regularly to stay gentle. Sparky has been heeled off of in the arena and at some jackpots, has been used on the ranch to pen and sort cattle, and has been ridden on ranches and state parks all over Texas. I recently took him to my boys’ school to do a demonstration for rodeo week, and even with large groups of kids swarming him and petting him all over, he never got excited or nervous. He loves the attention and knows when kids are around and he needs to be extra cautious. We haven’t found anything that bothers him, and if he does find something he is curious about all he does is stop and look. He has been taught to travel out and can really cover some ground if you need him to, crosses water with no problem, and will go up, over or through anything you point him at. Sparky rides quietly on a loose rein, but is very responsive and athletic. He will ride in an o ring or a bridle, neck reins and direct reins, whichever you prefer. He has the smoothest trot and an amazing rocking horse lope that you could ride all day long without getting sore. He is good on both leads, will sidepass, work a gate, and has one heck of a stop. Sparky has a very good foundation and is ready for someone to take him to the next level. With his good mind and athletic ability there are so many things he could do. He would make an amazing breakaway or heel horse, is a nice horse to use on the ranch and ride on trails, and would even do well at ranch versatility or competitive trails. Sparky is very easy to catch, even in a large pasture, he gets along with both mares and geldings, and he stands quietly tied. He is easy to load, haul and shoe, and does great barefoot or with shoes. He is currently shod. Sparky can be ridden by himself or with other horses, will happily lead or follow, and doesn’t mind being separated from the group. He has also been ridden alongside the road and in traffic and isn’t bothered by it. He recently had coggins and teeth done, and is UTD on shots and worming. Asking $18,500.
