This little horse has a big heart and a big personality and has always been a barn favorite. Watson has $2800 LTE in NRHA with limited showing but has an impressive resume. Watson won the CCHA Futurity as a 3 year old and he was the reserve champion at the Saskatchewan Futurity, he placed 5th in the Open Reining Alberta Summer Classic. 3rd at the Wheat City Derby. He has numerous other placings as well. Watson would make a solid non pro youth show horse or rookie horse. He has excellent spins, a big stop, smooth lead changes and carries himself in a beautiful frame. As a 2 year old Watson worked cattle and the flag and showed a lot of potential in the cutting arena. Sired by Hesa Smart Chic: NRHA Lifetime Earnings of $50,000, NRBC Non Pro Champion and NRHA Futurity Non Pro Finalist. Offspring have earned over $150,000 in NRHA competition and $40,000 in NRCHA competition. Hesa Smart Chic is a direct son of the $13+ million sire Smart Chic Olena. Watson can bow, lays down on command and he has also mastered the pickup. Drop your glove? Rope? Hat? No problem- Watson will pick it up off the ground and hand it to you in the saddle. Watson is as easy to mount as snapping your fingers. Get on the fence, mounting block or side of your trailer, snap your fingers and he will sidepass over to you. What a gentleman! We believe that horses should be solid in the arena and out of the arena, regardless of how impressive their arena resume has been. Watson has put on a lot of outside miles on our ranch. He has been excelling as a ranch horse and is no stranger to a hard days work. Whether we are gathering, sorting, doctoring or just checking fence Watson is a reliable mount and gets the job done. He crosses creeks, mud holes, goes over deadfall and through brush with no hesitation. Rides out alone or with other horses. You can lay him off for a month, cinch up and ride off with no funny business. He doesn’t get fresh and has never offered to buck or get cinchy even on a cold early morning. Watson has been making a really nice rope horse prospect on the heel side, he is quiet in the box, hunts cattle and has a nice big stop. Watson is a flashy performance horse but is a very safe and reliable guy who has no problem taking care of a young rider. He is quiet and safe and genuinely nice to be around.
