Baloo is a very seasoned, broke gelding with all the ingredients to make a “once in a lifer.” He is confident, competent, solid, gentle and versatile. Baloo is easy on the trail, with a can-do personality and long-strided walk that takes you places without feeling jostled. He hasn’t minded riding out alone, and once watched a big herd of elk go by without getting ruffled. Baloo easily crosses all sorts of terrain! In working conditions, he is very responsive and ready to give you a set of wheels as soon as you need it, but easily rates back to a walk or a standstill. He is great with tarps, pack equipment, jackets and saddlebags, and is generally known for taking things in stride. We’ve ridden him double, bareback and in a halter and lead and if there’s something new, he’s usually the one we’ll try it on! Baloo is confident behind a set of cows and rides well in the arena as well as out in the world. In addition to having all the personality traits of a keeper, he is handsome to boot, with a keen head and a pretty roan coat. This is a really nice gelding that someone will be lucky to take home.
