Description:
Wanted - Ranch Hand - Washington- 600 head cow/calf and 3000 acre dry land farming operation located in Garfield, and Asotin County, Washington seeking a Ranch Hand. This is a full-time year-round position.

• Must have a working knowledge of all aspects of cow-calf operation including but not limited to - cattle handling, identifying and treating sick, injured or stressed animals; gathering cattle, sorting pairs, doctoring when needed, vaccinating, processing and shipping calf crop and cull cattle, branding and calving.

•Cattle work is done using both horses and 4-wheelers, whichever is the most efficient for the job.

• Feeding hay in the winter and salt/mineral supplements as needed.

• Will be responsible for repairing fences, corrals and some equipment maintenance.

• Monitor, maintain and repair stock water lines as needed.

• Operate machinery including tractor, bale processor, truck etc.

•Some hand line irrigation of hay, hauling hay, and baling or swathing hay.

• The position includes riding in a forested allotment as well as the snake river brakes.

• The individual will work alongside the Ranch Owners. Ability to get along with others and communicate well is necessary.

• A couple useable horses and working dogs is a bonus

Qualifications

The ideal candidate must be a self-starter with the ability to work independently as well as with others. Good communication. Proficient in using Google sheets to use cow records and submit daily activities is a bonus. Valid driver’s license is required. Nonsmoker, no drugs, no heavy drinkers and no drinking on the job. Applicants should submit a detailed work history and references. Starting salary is depending on experience. A house, 5 acres, company vehicle and beef is provided.
