Description:
AQHA Gray Wood Hancock SK aka “Woody Harrelson” is a been there, done that type of heading and ranch gelding. He’s more whoa than go and happy to plod along all day at a walk, but has no trouble catching fast cattle out of the box if he needs to. He will easily throttle right back down and rate one that just trots out as well. He’s an honest 15.2 3/4, and wonderful to catch, load, haul, and handle. Scores like a rock, and you can run 1 or run 100, you get the same trip. A beginner rider can get along fine. He did hump up running the first steer on him after he hadn’t been roped on in the last 2 years. However, once he knew that wouldn’t be tolerated he hasn’t ever offered to do it again. We do have current front feet xrays, and though he is sound with no maintenance(no special shoeing, no equioxx or bute, no osphos, etc)he does have some navicular changes on the films. We are riding him and roping on him several days a week with just flat shoes on front and barefoot behind, and no soundness issues. But price reflects the xrays. We have current videos of a 16 year old boy roping on him. He pulls great, and faces quick with no box issues. He’d be an ideal practice horse or jackpot horse for a lower number roper. He has also been used extensively outside checking and doctoring cattle. He’s not flashy or fancy, but he’s honest and easy to get along with in every way. Can set up to try him on cattle.
