Just over 14.1 hands and goes to names like dash for perks, doc bar, and peppy San. He has never offered to buck, rear, kick, or runaway even when left to sit a while in between rides. Easy to catch and good with his feet. Takes a few minutes at the beginning of the ride to soften him up nicely if sits a bit in between rides but he knows all the fancy flexing/yielding/side passing/collection. He was ridden outside on cattle all spring by himself or with 1-2 other horses and the only thing he seems to need more confidence/reassurance on at times is water crossings. It takes a little coaxing sometimes. More apt to cross without having to think when following cattle. The type that can get a little frazzled if you dont give him a little time to process something new youre asking in a calm way (hasnt ever been dangerous just gets scattered feet). He shows a tremendous amount to want to cow! Hes super fun and smooth and for a young colt, he doesn’t stumble over himself trotting through sagebrush. He gets gates well. If he spooks at something its a minor reaction (stop and then looks at it or walks around it facing it), he doesnt look at much though. Needs rope work and riding bareback as I havent done that with him yet. Exceptional and flashy prospect with some speed that hasnt been tapped into yet. Be a good ranch, rope, barrel, trail gelding, maybe even a cowhorse or sorter. Although he has been awesome to work with so far, he needs a continued confident and soft rider for the few areas he still needs reassurance in. He is not a green handling horse, fancy handle with buttons for his age. Won’t have time this fall to ride all my horses and since hes the youngest started horse of mine he is first one on the sale list. Located in northeastern Montana. Have videos!
