Hello! My name is Jay Nixon, I am 19 years old and interested in getting into ranch work. I currently live in Virginia, where I grew up helping my grandma on her farm. I started riding her horses at a very young age so I’m really comfortable working around them. I also took riding lessons for 3 years in high school. Currently, I work at a horse barn that oversees and manages 30 horses. My daily duties including rotating the horses throughout the fields, feeding them, administering medicine, and general overall maintenance and care of the horses and the barn. I’m hoping to find a guest ranch that is willing to show me the ropes of working as a trail guide and ranch hand. Last year, I was a manager in training at Panera, so I’m familiar working with other people and giving customers the expierence and service they deserve. I hope you’ll consider me and possibly allow me to join your team. I would be willing to move as soon as possible.
