Description:
This is one of the very best Cates spurs I have seen. Bottle opener shanks, scalloped bands, sterling mounted, unworn, 1 3/4" rowels, 3 3/8" heel openings are all part of this pair. They have W.P.S. stamped on the inside button. They were made for the Women’s Protective Service benefit auction at Lubbock, Texas. His daughter was the executive director of the non profit at that time and he made them special. He is featured in the Martin’s book on modern makers and was awarded the Chester A. Reynolds award in 2012 by the National Cowboy Museum and Western Heritage Center. He pass in 2011. We pay shipping within the 48 states and accept most forms of payment.
