If you are looking for a flashy, versatile young horse to finish out in whatever direction you choose, one that will really catch other peoples’ attention and won’t get you hurt, then take a look at Lucy. She is a gorgeous black and white paint mare, 15.1 hh and very nicely built with a big hip, tons of shape, and a pretty head and neck with a kind eye. Lucy is very much a lady, classy, elegant and sensitive, and a beautiful mover with a good mind and lots of try. She is 6 years old and nicely bred, a mix of cow horse, running and western pleasure lines. I have sent her APHA registration in and they are running 6-8 weeks out for processing time, but she will have her APHA papers. She is easy to catch, great for the shoer, stands quietly tied, and loads and hauls well. She is turned out with the geldings and is not at all mare’ish. Lucy was started late and then ridden inconsistently, so she is still green but coming along very nicely. We have ridden her English and western, ridden down the road and out in the pasture (although she has not had a ton of outside riding), done some obstacles with her, and she handles everything we throw at her without issue. Lucy has never offered to buck, rear, bite, kick or take off. She will back, sidepass, move off your leg, is good on both leads, and is starting to work a gate. She rides quietly but can have a motor if you ask her for it. Lucy loves attention and is ready for someone to finish her out in whatever discipline they choose. Asking $4500.
