Bred and raised by Carol Rose Quarter Horses, Dressed By Sioux is by A Shiner Named Sioux (LTE $161,891 Produced $401,515), and out of the great mare Smartly Dressed (PE over $327,613). Sioux was started as a reiner and shown in the 2015 NRHA Open Futurity, as well as a few other smaller futurities. From there she was finished as a cowhorse in Robert Chown’s program. Sioux has been shown down the fence, but will take an Amateur level rider to the winners circle. One of the best things about this mare is how absolutely honest she is. Very predictable, and very easy to operate. She is a huge stopper, very honest through her lead changes, and is the type of mare that will take care of you in and out of the show pen. She has packed inexperienced riders, and can consistently mark well without being pushed. Sioux has been shown in the NRHA, NRCHA, ASHA, SHOT, AQHA Ranch Riding, AQHA Versatility, halter, collegiate classes, trail, and pleasure.

This mare has been my personal show horse since 2018, and I have taken her absolutely everywhere. I showed her on the NCTC Stock Horse Team, and we were the 2018 SHOT Collegiate World Champs against various D1 colleges such as Texas Tech and A&M. After I graduated, we began showing at various NRCHA events. In 2021, she was a Top 3 Finalist at the AQHA World Show in the $1k in the reined cowhorse, and was also the Top 3 Finalist at the NRCHA Celebration of Champions in the $1k. In between shows, you can keep Sioux legged up by loping her around in a halter and lead out in the pasture, hauling on various trail rides, or swimming her. Sioux is the type of uncomplicated mare that you can just plum have fun on with no worries.

Aside from how she rides, this is one of the kindest horses I have ever been around. Sioux has a goofy personality, loves being scratched, and will always meet you at the gate. She has the demenor of a dog more than a horse. Dressed By Sioux has been such a special part of my life, and this breeding season I decided to invest in her as a producer. What I really like about her as a broodmare is that she is a big mare, and is built like a tank- which will ideally compliment a lot of these smaller stallions, and she sports a pedigree that is a great outcross to any High Brow Cat/ Dual Rey Pedigree. I also really love the mare power that she brings to the table on her bottom side. She is an overo paint, so it is very likely her cross with Dual Reyish will produce a chromed out sorrel. This baby is going to be fantastic, and as much as I adore Sioux and would love to hang onto her- I am needing to raise funds for my first home and cannot justify keeping her.

She stands tied, is great for farrier/vet, easy to haul etc. Zero Vices.
