Description:
“Ross Creek Avero” aka Avero



Avero is a coming 9 year old papered AQHA gelding that stands around 14.1hh.

He has been used primarily as a trail horse and on the ranch to bring in steers. He was team roped off of with his previous owners and taught me to ranch rope (and had the patience of a saint while doing so). He is very vocal and is always happy to greet you when he sees you.



Avero has been exposed to everything- heavy equipment, dogs, creeks, bridges, cattle, the pro-cutter, flags, etc. He’s the type of horse that will keep you out of a wreck and is super gentle. You don’t have to worry about this one doing anything stupid and he has never so much as offered to kick, bite, buck, rear or bolt. He can also sit for months and will never be cold backed or broncy when you pull him back out of the pasture. Loads and travels well, good with feet, stands tied, good to catch.



Also has great feet. They are big and strong and you won’t need to put shoes on him if you choose not to. He was shod by his previous owner however I’ve not shod him since owning him as he does so well barefoot.



Avero is a safe gelding that I would trust to take care of anyone. He does have an old back injury that occurred prior to me buying him and does require ongoing maintenance to keep him comfortable, however this hasn’t stopped us from getting out and about on trails and around the ranch. He would not be suited to steep mountain riding however. Maintenance involves once monthly chiro/bodywork sessions. He is not on any medications.



His ideal home would be as a kid’s second horse or for someone who would like a safe trail horse for lighter riding. He is NOT being sold as a team roping horse. He is easy to ride out alone or with company.
