Description:
The one you’ve been searching for!!  Lucy is the coolest draft cross mare that is absolutely gentle for most everyone. She’s drop dead gorgeous with her stunning sorrel and white coloring and pretty head. She stands 15.2, weighs 1350# and has great conformation, massive bone and great feet. She has had lots of training and rides incredibly well and will walk, trot and lope on cue both directions. She will step right into a lope and she is smooth gaited. She neck reins or will direct rein if you prefer. She has a heart of gold for the tiny kiddos and will stand for them to be all over her. You can pony your kids on her that aren’t riding solo yet.

She was raised in big country in Montana and has been used by grandma and the kids on a huge working cattle/dude ranch to gather, move and pen cattle and load trucks. She is great to ride out prowling pastures locating strays and also to check fences. She’s safe for the bigger kids and guests to ride as well. She is accustomed to riding and maneuvering in the mountains. The little kids have been ponied all over the ranch on her. Lucy has also been ridden on the dude ranch side as one of their first string horses. She is awesome as a guide horse and will pick her way through anything she comes across. She is also willing to ride at the back.

She’s been ridden in English tack and hacks around like a dream. She’s started over small x’s and seems to enjoy it. You can leave her off 6 months and tack her up and ride right off without issue. She would make someone a super cute weekend warrior show horse if they wanted to continue to train her in the English field.

She is the very best trail riding mount you could ask for. She has been hauled literally thousands of miles all over the United States by her original owners to every trail riding venue you can think of. She’ll go anywhere you point her including up and down hills, through water, over bridges and logs. She’s been ridden in parades and is traffic safe. She’s been ridden around dogs, bicycles, ATV’s, tractors and joggers. She is even stroller broke.

We are reposting Lucy for sale at no fault of her own it’s simply because the 86 yr old gentleman that bought her needs something smaller. When he got her home he realized he couldn’t get on and off her without a stool and he can’t carry a stool on the 5-7 mile trail rides he does 3 times a week.
