Description:
Looking for year-round, on-site couple to help start and maintain a hobby farm on large acreage in Northwest Montana. Fully furnished housing, utilities, high-speed internet, all tools and equipment, transportation, and salary depending on experience.

Healthcare NOT provided. Property is about an hour from town, so must be able to enjoy the remote wilderness and be comfortable with dealing with wildlife and the occasional trespasser.

Owners visit regularly, but have separate residence on-site. Flexible start date for the right candidate.



Primary Duties:

Keep extended driveway clear in winter (tractor with plow and snowblower available)

Cut/stack firewood from dead and downed trees (chainsaws provided)

Confront and discourage trespassers

Inspect, maintain, and make minor repairs to all buildings and equipment

Pick up mail regularly

Carry trash to dump regularly

Be actively involved in the building of sustainable farming activities (orchard, small animals, larger livestock, gardening, bee keeping, etc). Owners are open to ideas.





Skills:

Good mechanical ability

Good handyman skills for small repairs, rough carpentry, fence building, etc

Good with a tractor and chainsaw

Have an interest in permaculture and sustainable practices

Comfortable carrying firearm

Have working knowledge of electrical, plumbing, and small engines
