Candidate has a wide variety of skills including mechanical and carpentry. As a ranch we depend on our water rights and nature to maintain the beautiful pastures and hay fields. . We expect integrity in everything we do. Build it, fix it and do it right the first time. The position can require working long hours in all types of weather conditions. We are seeking a professional and dedicated person who has a passion for holding high standard in everything they do. Essential responsibilities and duties: Be organized and have a plan for the month, week and day. Set up your schedule to ensure that all the duties and responsibilities are completed. Provide your schedule and plan to property manager and owner in weekly meetings. Maintain all grounds including pastures, fields, ponds, river frontage, buildings, homes, gates, roads, gardens, barns, sheds, fencing etc. Maintain appearance of ponds, water features, and river. Property maintenance includes maintaining the appearance of all buildings and including but not limited to, fixing plumbing, stain wood, sealing wood, brushing roads, washing shop windows, all repairs of any thing on property. Manage all aspects of hay operations including maintaining ditches and cut, swath, bale, stack and store all hay. Plan a irrigation schedule, setup and run rotational irrigation, utilizing sprinklers, pumps, pods, guns and gated pipe to achieve top quality feed and appearance of ranch. Seed, weed, fertilize, maintain, drag, irrigate, and mitigate pests in pastures, fields, buildings, and entire property. Manage water usage - record monthly Well reading within the limits as well as ensure we get all our allocated ditch water. Manage compost pile so that it can utilized as dirt Ensure all in-ground sprinklers are working properly to utilize and conserve water. (not spraying roads, or buildings) Ensure trees and plants are receiving the proper water. Trim trees, remove fallen or dead trees. Cut and stack firewood. Construct and install sheds, fencing, and other projects that arise. Snow removal in early mornings prior to staff arrival and late evenings Operate, maintain, and repairs of all ranch equipment including tractors, swather, baler, skid steer, rakes, gators, irrigation equipment, pumps, pipe, etc. Know and follow ranch policies, procedures, and equipment manuals. Manage and work with one part time staff member - report to property manager Additional Skills required : Mechanical Skills, Carpentry Skills, Handy Man Skills Additional important items : candidate must be a good communicator, reliable, self-motivated and driven to accomplish an exceptional job. High work ethic is necessary. Clean, neat, organized and tools put away every time they are used. Candidate must have a driver licenses and be able to speak fluent English.
