Description:
Alaska WL is an impressive black and white Spotted Draft horse. He stands 16.3 hands and is 1650lbs! He is registered with the International Draft Sport Horse Registry. He was foaled in 2014, making him 8 years old. Alaska is nothing short of a gentle giant. He has three very comfortable gaits. A nice, ground covering walk, smooth trot, and a rocking horse kind of lope. He easily picks up both leads and is balanced under saddle. He rides soft in the bridle and is light and responsive to the rider’s aids. Alaska neck reins or he rides with a direct rein too. Alaska has been working his whole life. He has worked cattle in the feed yard and on the ranch. He has roped and doctored numerous cattle in pasture. He helps move and sort cow/calf pairs and load the calves in the trailer. He is surefooted on various terrain, up and down hills and banks, across ditches, in the woods and in open fields. He is also ridden English and would make a great lower level dressage and eventing horse. To further add to his resume, he has been on overnight camping and hunting trips. He has been tied to the high line overnight with no issues. He’s also been ridden in town and is traffic safe. Alaska stands excellent for body clipping. He loads and unloads on a stock trailer or slant load. His stall manners are impeccable. He stands well for the farrier and wears a number 4 shoe. His feet are in excellent shape, but he is currently shod on all 4 feet due to being ridden on all kinds of terrain and footing. Alaska had a basic PPE and soundness exam done on January 31st, 2021.
