Description:
Really nice complete set up. Vintage sterling inlay bit in a sliding ear headstall with rawhide accent and sterling silver overlay buckles, rein chains, and braided leather romal reins. The headstall is lined and stitched with a size adjustment on each side; braided rawhide in the cheeks, on the buckle keepers, and on the ear piece. The buckles are marked STERLING SILVER OVERLAY on the back, and the buckles and chicago screw covers are engraved. Headstall is marked CHAMPION TURF L.A. CALIF. The bit looks to be older, full sterling inlay with spots and conchos, nicely engraved, blued finish. Copper port cover and roller in the mouth. No makers marks that I can find. Cheeks measure 8" long, and the overall length to the bottom of the slobber bar is approx. 9"; mouth is just over 5" wide. Rein chains measure 10" long. The romal reins are well conditioned braided leather with rein snaps and a leather popper. No makers marks. Light signs of use and wear on the reins. Reins measure approx. 7’ 4" overall including the popper, and the popper is 9 3/4".
