Including non-ag (recreational activities, weddings, tours, etc.) - Proficient computer skills and record-keeping with excel, word, and google drive - Excellent communication skills - Able to take direction and work both independently and as a team - Ability to facilitate and direct a crew - Enjoys educating and working with interns - Experience sorting, gathering, moving, and doctoring livestock from horseback - Ability to spot, diagnose, and treat sick cattle - Experience with yearlings - Excellent horsemanship skills - Knowledge of holistic management - Understand rotational and dryland grazing practices - Flood irrigation experience a plus - General equipment knowledge, maintenance, fabrication, welding, and carpentry skills - Operate equipment for snow removal - Current clean driver’s license - Must own horses Job Description: Snake River Ranch is looking for an Assistant Ranch Couple/Foreman for its South Ranch location (Jackson / Wilson WY). We are a large yearling operation with non-ag ventures (weddings and recreational operations). This is a hands-on position that requires a significant amount of responsibility on a diversified ranch. Duties include daily movements and doctoring of 1 – 1,500 yearlings while also ensuring our non-ag ventures continue to operate successfully. This individual should be capable of shipping and receiving cattle, understanding vaccinations & medications, understand rotational grazing, dryland pasture management, ability to put together a quality seasonal crew and direct morning meetings, maintain and repair equipment, plowing snow, and keeping records up to date. We are searching for a seasonal or long-term Assistant Ranch Couple/Foreman who have friendly, outgoing personalities, understanding of long winters, who are team players with no drama, and who provides a clean and tidy appearance of the ranch at all times. Winter operations mainly consist of plowing snow, sleigh rides and getting equipment ready for spring. We do not have cattle in the winter or make hay or plant crops in the summer.
