Description:
In search of a husband and wife team to help take care and start up a hobby farm operation of cattle/sheep/goats/poultry/garden and fruit trees on our private family ranch (not commercial or public). We are seeking trustworthy people who love rural living, are independent, self-starters, and possess excellent animal husbandry/doctoring skills. Job requirements include fencing (welding a plus), irrigation & ditch maintenance/repair, haying, building maintenance, farm/heavy equipment operating skills, rotating a small herd of grazing cattle, gardening & horticulture, and taking care of livestock. Must be physically fit and able to lift 80-100LB bales of hay. There are numerous houses/guest rooms that require housekeeping and attention. The position is full-time with some evening and/or weekend hours depending on the needs of the livestock. The ranch is located in a remote area on sizable acreage, but is within a half hour of a variety of shopping/businesses. Ideal candidates will possess excellent communication skills, be self-motivated and persistent in achieving all ranch work independently and proficiently without supervision. Salary is dependent on experience and on-site housing is available.
