Description:
We are seeking a position together, and below is a little about us.

We are considering Wyoming, Montana, Idaho, Colorado, North and South Dakota, Nebraska, Utah, Northern Nevada and Northern Arizona.

My name is Tiffany Garlach, I am a 32 year old female currently located in Northern New Mexico, originally from Wyoming and willing to relocate within reason.

I have dabbled in just about everything before I found ranching, from EMT to restaurant, forklift operator, and barn hand at a 60+ horse barn. I was introduced to ranching almost 5 years ago helping run a family cow/calf operation in Gunnison, Colorado.

In spring I assisted in pulling calves, tagging, doctoring, identifying the sick, or cows that needed assistance.

Branded using branding table.

I assisted in gathering, sorting, processing, and hauling cattle/bulls to summer pastures. During the summer I rode and helped check, move, maintain/build fence, and ensure adequate grazing and water.

I also learned part of the haying process, such as tettering and raking hay.

During fall I assisted with gathering, sorting, and processing for pre checking.

During the winter I assisted with breaking ice and feeding.

On the current ranch I have been here since March, and came in to the cows at least 70% calved out so played catch up with doctoring and tagging.

Branded and vaccinated calf crop using branding table.

We did more gathering, sorting, processing and hauling or pushing of cattle to get from spring to summer pastures.

Maintain or rebuilt fences prior to cattle occupying pastures.

Summer was spent driving to and from mesa, riding through large pastures and identifying cattle that don’t belong, ensuring ours are in, and maintaining health of pairs and yearlings. Consistently checking feed and water since rainfall was primarily only source of water.

In fall we gathered, sorted and hauled back down to pastures for winter, processing upon arrival and before turnout.

I am looking for a job where I can learn more about cow/calf growth and production, gain more skills, and get better at my current ones. I am not proficient or confident in roping and would like to improve that. As well as my overall knowledge of cattle husbandry, nutrition, and health. I understand fencing, maintenance, and any other Ranch chores come along with this as well. I am not looking strictly for riding job! I’ll do whatever necessary jobs arise within my knowledge and ability, and hopefully learn more!

I have a strong desire to learn and work hard. I don’t know a lot, and I can’t do a lot but I am wanting to learn and try. I take direction well and I prioritize safety. I enjoy horsemanship and learning more about being a horseman and stockman. I am Beef Quality Certified in Cow/Calf.

My name is Molly Cannon, I have spent the last year managing and working beside the owner on a cattle ranch in Maxwell, NM. Before that I spent the previous ten years working on my family’s cattle ranch in Gunnison, CO. I am always eager to take my experience and love of ranching to a bigger operation where I have the opportunity to learn new skills and grow in the ranching industry.

During my time at both Kern Ranch and Guerrieri Land and Cattle, I have mastered many skills. I have worked cattle both on horse and on foot using low stress handling techniques. I understand the need to be efficient and timely in my role while also ensuring the safety of the cattle and myself. I have been responsible for the for the health and range feed levels for the cattle, the responsibility of when to rotate pastures and the most optimal placement of salt and mineral to best graze the pastures. I have also worked with the ranches preferred veterinarian on vaccine schedules and preventative health measures.

Additionally, I have significant experience with haying, including flood irrigation practices and some experience with pivot irrigation systems. I work to ensure water is always moving as well as spreading across the largest area of grass possible. During haying season, I operate several pieces of important equipment, including swathers, rake tractors, teter and round balers. I treat all equipment as if it was my own and personally work on each piece to ensure it is operationally ready to run. I am skilled at welding, building and mending wire fences, and building and maintaining electric and corral pole fences.

I have also been a professional hunting guide for 10 years for Lazy F Bar outfitters out of Crested Butte, Colorado. I guided trophy mule deer hunters as well as elk hunters and some species hunts.

I am a dedicated, hard working individual who is ready to take on a new challenge in the ranching industry. I take pride in my work and look forward to bringing my love of cattle and ranching to a new team.

We own three horses, a solid 12 year old ranch mare and two 6 year old geldings. We have 3 well behaved cow dogs, 2 fixed females 1 fixed male who are as much family as they are work dogs.

In any off time we enjoy hiking, photography, fishing, hunting, riding and roping. We don’t do hard drugs or smoke. We occasionally enjoy an adult beverage after work.
