Description:
East-Central Idaho cow/calf ranch seeking to hire energetic and enthusiastic team member.



We are a family-oriented, holistically managed, forage-based beef production ranch that utilizes Management Intensive Grazing (MIG) throughout the entire growing and stockpile grazing season. Ranch is located ~10 miles from main trade area, schools, grocery store, etc. Larger trade area is ~150 miles.



Successful applicant will have experience, or demonstrated eagerness to learn, skills in the following areas:



Animal husbandry:

- Calving heifers and cows.

- Identify and appropriately treat various illnesses as they arise

- Low-Stress livestock handling (may be on foot, horseback, ATV/UTV)

- Basic animal nutrition/mineral requirements



Grazing:

- Management Intensive Grazing (MIG)

- Understand water/mineral distribution and adjust accordingly

- Assess/Repair water systems when necessary

- Maintain/Troubleshoot/Repair electrical fence systems



Farming/Irrigation:

- Knowledge of variety of irrigation systems (Flood, Handline, Wheel Line, Pivot)

- General irrigation maintenance

- Routine maintenance on diesel power plants

- Routine maintenance on various types of farm/haying equipment

- Operation of farm machinery for tillage, planting, harvesting, feeding



General:

- Diagnose and repair equipment breakdowns

- Maintenance and upkeep of ranch grounds, buildings, fencing, etc.

- Operation/maintenance of ranch related equipment



Benefits: Employee housing is conditionally provided, meat, vehicle (authorized use), paid vacation, paid sick days, Simple IRA with employer match after one year.



Salary is commensurate with experience.



Valid Driver’s License and Pre-employment drug test required.
