Rio is a gorgeous POA gelding and is one of the coolest ones you’ll find for sale. He is 3 yrs old but he has an old soul mentality. He has way more whoa than go but he does walk, jog, lope when asked but when you quit riding he goes back to a walk. He is grandma and grandkid rated and approved. He has the neastest personality you’ve ever seen and is like the class clown. He stands 14.1 so he is oversized to show on the POA circuit however he’s the perfect size for a ranch and rope pony or about anything else you’d want. He rides around super soft and low headed. He flexes and gives his face both ways, direct reins, neck reins, pivots, moves off your leg and has a good stop. He will open and close any gate you ride him up to. He has an incredible pitter-pat jog and rocking chair lope. He’s been shown at open shows in walk-trot, western pleasure, ranch pleasure, trail and halter. We’re not representing him as a finished show pony buy one that’s been hauled, competed for fun, super broke and open to whatever you throw at him. Rio is a great pony to give lessons on because he is so kind, gentle, easy to ride and very accepting of new riders. He’s been used to gather and work cattle. He’s had some calves drug off him. He would make a fancy heel or breakaway pony. He shows natural cow sense and will fall right in behind a steer and track it all over. You can track and rope the dummy on him for hours. The kids can sit still on him and learn how to rope the dummy. They can rope it 100 times and he stays patient. You could team sort off him at a lower level if you wanted to. Rio is an awesome trail riding pony and he will go wherever you point him. He has been ridden on big trail rides and doesn’t really care if he’s out front or at the back. He’s perfectly content to hit the trail alone also. He isn’t phased by dogs, tractors, ATV’s, bicycles, strollers or cars. If you want your own Unicorn pony then here he is. Another cool thing about him is he’s big enough for a lot of adults to ride. Rio is an outstanding young horse with a fabulous mind and the sky is the limit on what you can do with him.
