Ladies take note, this saddle may be for you. It was designed by and built for a lady by one of the nation’s foremost saddle makers, the late GAYLERD THISSELL of Cottonwood, CA. Not only a renown saddle maker (named saddle maker of the year in 2004) but an equally talented silversmith. All six of the Sterling silver conchos plus the rivet and screw heads were made and engraved by him. The rough-out seat and fenders are very practical for adding stability in riding. The balance of leather is intricately hand carved including the underside of the fork. One of its greatest assets is the fact it only weighs approximately 30 lbs. Whether in the arena, show pen, on the trail or on the ranch you will be riding one of the best. The attached work order indicates the saddle cost $3,720.00 in 2007. It would probably be in excess of $4,500.00 today. The saddle hasn’t been ridden enough to get the “squeak” out; yet the fenders and stirrup leathers are turned and pliable with no resistance. Although designed with a lady in mind, the masculine gender can enjoy its attributes as well. $2,250.00 includes shipping to the lower 48.
