UTD vaccine’s, weighing about 45+ pounds now. Both parents are here on the Ranch and guard up to 400 head cattle and over 2000 head of sheep. These pups are the real thing, they are born with the sheep, sleep with the sheep and eat with the sheep from birth. Now, they are going out with their mother to various bands learning to be what they were bred to do. We do not believe in so called layering, which is adding multi LGD breeds. We believe for more soundness and guarding instincts that purebred dogs or a purebred cross is much more likely to possess, which gives you a better idea of temperament and standards among the breeds. These pups will reach up to 175 + pounds, they are gentle, loving, very loyal yet fierce, staying with the livestock, except for a quick run by the house to say hello and throw them a bone. Here in Montana we live very rural, but alongside rural we have predators! These predators consist of grizzly bear, wolf, coyote, badger and fox. We have 10 guard dogs to protect our herd and flocks from these predators, to say the least we couldn’t manage these numbers without their loyalty and instinct to protect even if it means giving their life for newborn lambs or calves...they will and have . We replace those who have aged and or simply retired or have passed on most courageously doing their job with the upcoming pups. Usually the retired dogs stay closer to the barn and guard here at home before they pass on. Its almost as if they know their time is near when they cant keep up with the younger dogs or the terrain and encounters they have with predators. The good news is these dogs live up to 12-13 years old, so that’s pretty darn good considering the injuries, the work they put in around the clock. They love children, they love their owners, not to fond of strangers. If interested please email with any questions you may have.
