Due to drought conditions and falling cattle prices, the ranch we have been working on can no longer support our family, and the current owners family as well. We have sold our cattle, and are currently looking for long term work for the both of us, preferably fairly close to a good school for the kids. I am originally from Nelson, Nebraska, and have 20 + years’ experience in ranch work, including owning my own small herd, working for other ranchers, and running my own fencing company. I am reliable, honest, self-motivated, and have all the skills necessary in a cow/calf and haying operation. Along with my knowledge of cattle, I have an Associates Degree in Welding, am a decent mechanic, and operate all ranch/haying equipment. I am a former PRCA Saddle Bronc rider, and have qualified for the NFR five times during my 15 year career. I have worked as a colt starter, and though doing it for the public is not what I would like to do, I do take pride in the colts I have sold, and continue to raise and train my own. My family includes my fiance, Stephanie, and our two children. Our girl, is 13, and plays basketball, volleyball, and rodeos. Our boy, is 7, and is only interested in rodeo and football at the present moment. Stephanie was born in North Dakota, and learned her ranch skills on the HC Ranch in Nevada, where her granddad was the cow boss. She is a very solid horse trainer, and is good with cattle as well. Stephanie has also spent many hours helping cut and rake hay, and can run all feeding equipment. We have working dogs, and nine horses, all well-bred and well trained, or young and currently under training. Our ideal situation would be a ranch where we could work as a family for many years. We are open to negotiation with regards to salary, depending on whether or not there would be an option for us to run stock of our own, but we would need housing provided.
