Description:
The Red Rock Ranch is a 14,000 acre operation located in the mountain foothills of Southwest Montana. The ranch operates as a yearling operation with 800+ head. The grazing is very progressive utilizing management-intensive grazing, rest rotation, and Holistic Management practices to improve soil health, forage production, and biodiversity. Bison handling is frequent with a heavy focus on proper stockmanship.



Red Rock Ranch is looking for a Seasonal Ranch Hand/ Management Intern for the 2021 season. The ideal candidate is someone passionate about ranching and conservation, with education or career focus in ranch management. This position will report directly to the Ranch Manager with direct instruction in ranch management systems and analysis designed to provide experience and education in ranch/resource management. Wage DOE, fully furnished bunkhouse accommodations (shared occupancy), fiber internet, all utilities provided.



Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Responsible for successful planning and

execution of seasonal grazing plan. Ensure

grazing paddocks, water, exterior fences, and

personnel are in place: Responsible for the

maintenance, installation, and seasonal removal

of all electric fencing equipment and supplies;

Coordinate directly with ranch manager to

construct paddocks in a timely manner prior and

post cattle movement; Keep all fencing supplies

in good order, with a running inventory at all

times development and maintenance of ranch

buildings, fences, corrals and water sources.



• Responsible for the development of range and

pasture monitoring, inventory, and reporting of

production, and utilization of each

pasture/paddock.



• Use chemicals to assist with weed control.



• Safely operate and maintain ATV, UTV vehicles, tractors and heavy equipment with various attachments.



• Participate in ranch safety instruction
