This is an old, small, privately owned & operated traditional Wyoming ranch. Owned by the same family for five generations. Used by the family for recreation, hiking, horseback riding and fishing. The ranch also grazes horses and cattle and raises hay on the many acres of irrigated pastureland. The ranch crew lives and works together to provide exceptional care of the ranch owners. Working and living on this remotely located property offers a lifetime of unique experiences in the wild Wyoming landscape. The ranch is very remote, so staff must enjoy a quiet, ranch setting. It is a beautiful mountain location with access to thousands of acres of private and public land for hiking, fishing, and riding. The ranch is close to the NE entrance to Yellowstone National Park and 1.5 hours from Cody, Wy and Red Lodge, MT. Requirements: • Ability to prepare and cook a variety of hearty, healthy breakfasts and dinners for 10-12 crew. • Ability to work with food reps to order appropriate amounts of food for the week for the owners and their guest, we live in a very remote area so planning ahead is critical. • Have your own car and be willing to travel to town (Cody) an hour and a half away to grocery shop at the local grocery or the Farmers Market. • Clean and sanitize kitchen floors, ovens, and other cooking equipment. • The ability to remain on your feet for long periods of time. • Self-starter, positive attitude, team player mentality. • Food Service experience i.e.. restaurant, catering is a plus. • A love of the outdoors. Responsibilities include: • Planning meals, purchasing food, preparing breakfast and dinner for approximately 10-12 crew. • Assisting the family cooks with planning meals, purchasing food and willing to assist if need be. • Maintaining a clean and organized kitchen, refrigerators and freezers and pantry. • Keeping fridge stocked for crew on days off. • Inventory of food for crew, owners and guests. • US Food orders and keep accurate records The ranch crew works together, with flexibility and excellent communication skills to maintain a positive attitude in all situations. We promote a lighthearted, fun atmosphere and do not appreciate drama. Monthly salary, all meals and private living quarters with private bath are provided. There is no cell service on the ranch but we do have wifi and landlines. Position starts June 1st and ends Sept 7, 2021.
