Description:
Kempker Ranch/Kempker Arena has an open position for a full-time live-in Barn/Ranch Hand. Duties include but are not limited to: Morning and evening chores which includes turn in/out, feed, water, grooming, blanketing, stall/barn cleaning, administration of equine medication when applicable, and exercising/riding horses. Handling and training of horses required. Riding, horse showing, and rodeo opportunities available for the right person. Experience with fence repair, operation of tractor and other farm equipment/machinery, and maintaining indoor and outdoor riding arenas.Our facility consists of a 60x200 indoor arena w/ 19 stalls w/ attached 3 bedroom apartment, heated/central air, full bath and kitchen; 140x240 outdoor arena w/ calf, team roping, and 6 bucking chutes, (we do occasionally host timed events and rodeos) 186 acres prox of pasture/hay/fence maintenance, some cattle; equine therapy/conditioning includes Aquatread and covered VitaFloor exerciser w/ round pen in center. We are looking for someone who is task oriented, self motivated, punctual, possesses communication skills, efficient, organized, friendly, and can provide references. Someone who is business oriented and will hold the highest standards of professionalism when interacting with our horses and clients. Compensation will be discussed on a case by case basis and will depend upon your level of experience and knowledge in this industry, and INCLUDES a furnished apartment and benefits!!! No pets.
