If you need a horse that is sound and knows what it means to put in a hard days work, that you can use all day, everyday on the ranch without him getting tired, then Taco is the horse for you. He is extremely athletic with a big motor and no bottom. He has been a slave on the ranch his entire life and he is good at what he does. Taco is 14.3 hh and 10 years old. He came off of a ranch in New Mexico, where he was used for all phases of ranch work including sorting pairs, roping and doctoring cattle in the pasture, and checking fence. He has a really good handle and stop, will sidepass, and is good on both leads. Taco is quick footed, rides quietly on a loose rein but has plenty of speed if you ask him for it. He is a pleasure to ride out in the pasture, crosses water with no problem, and isn’t spooky. He can be ridden out by himself or with other horses, and doesn’t mind being separated from the group. He has also been ridden alongside the road and in traffic and isn’t bothered by it. Taco would also make a nice horse for someone wanting to do multi day or overnight trail rides, or packing up into the mountains, as he is very sure footed with smooth gaits. Asking $4500. Taco has good ground manners, stands quietly tied, and is easy to catch, load, haul and shoe. He has an old wire cut on his left hind ankle, but it does not affect the joint or cause him to have any soundness problems.
