Haying: My wife Room And Board: Preferred Phone#: 307-679-8323 click to view fullsize image Description: Hi our names are Scott and Laurel Carlson we are 25 and 26 and we are looking for a couples ranch job preferably around the northern Utah or the Northwestern corner of Wyoming. These are places we would like to end up at, however, we would look at other places if it was a good fit for us. I currently train ranch horses and cowboy for a living with a trainer based out of Utah. My wife is a receptionist/assistant at a vet clinic and also is a vet tech for an equine dentist. We have 7 dogs, 10 horses, and 8 head of longhorns (for the right place we would sale cows). A little about me, I have worked for  Deseret Land & Livestock for 5 years in Woodruff, Ut and at their Sheridan, Wy extension. I’ve also worked 2 seasons for a big assosation which was also based out of Woodruff, Utah. I worked for the Upper Green River Cattle Association this last summer. I took care of ~1600 head and lived in a cow camp while my wife was down at a ranch being a full time ranch hand. I have lots of experience riding colts and outside horses for people. Also have broke a team to drive and drove a team a little. Just after high school I worked for my Grandpa and ran his place for him that was 150 head operation of quarter horses. I  do all of my own shoeing, can weld and do a little mechanical work and run most equipment. A little about my wife. She’s worked for various family ranches surrounding the Laramie,Wy & Wheatland, Wy area while growing up. She’s completed a bachelors in Animal Science in production & nutrition. She completed internships at Darnall Feedlot & Ranch Inc in Harrisburg, NE. While there she learned how to call bunks, sort out sick cattle, load scales and trucks, doctoring/veterinary protocol, drive& load feed trucks. As well as Deseret Land & Livestock in Woodruff, Ut learning more about doctoring pasture cattle, roping skills and training horses. Laurel was then a ranch hand in Pinedale, Wy for Murdoch Cattle Co. doing the basic workload, learned new skills of haying, equipment maintenance and irrigating. She’s continued to be a day worker at various places while growing her own online health & motivation business. We are looking for somewhere we can make our home and be at for a while. The ideal place we would like to end up is around the Pinedale, Jackson, Afton area or that part of Wyoming area but must be a full time- year round job. Also does not have to be a full time position for my wife she would be plumb happy as long as she could help during the spring and fall works and help on the big moves and gathers.
