WATER RESOURCE AND INFRASTRUCTURE MANAGER The Bar Cross Ranch is a great place to work, with a regenerative focus. The ranch is a yearling outfit located in Western Wyoming. Responsible for the utilization and development of the ranch’s water resources: Maintain, develop and utilize existing water rights across 2,300+ acres of flood irrigated meadows; promote efficiency in irrigation; develop efficient water usage monitoring system across network; maintain existing irrigation infrastructure; promote healthy in-stream flows; and develop additional storage and/or irrigation opportunities. Work with existing resources to increase forage productivity from 1.0 to 1.5 tons per acre to 2.0 to 2.5 tons per acre on irrigated pastures; oversee the harvest of 1,000 acres of meadow through an existing contract haying arrangement. Qualifications: The positions requires an individual with the following experience and characteristics: demonstrated experience in managing irrigation, infrastructure and equipment; experience in ranch business reporting, budgeting, and planning; experience in hiring and managing staff; a willingness to work until the job is finished. Qualifications not required, but are a plus: a bachelors degree in range management, ecology, agri-business or related field, a strong livestock background. Compensation and Benefits: The ranch will pay a highly competitive salary commensurate with experience. Additional benefits include the following: eligibility in the ranch’s annual cash bonus plan if performance goals are met; housing or a housing stipend; a defined contribution retirement plan; a health benefit; a ranch truck; an annual tuition and travel stipend for continuing education; a paid time off package that starts at two weeks per year and increases with service.
