Description:
Vaquero is a 12yr old, 13.1hh, b/w gelding. If you need something that can do it all in a smaller package, he is your guy. From jumping to roping, he’s got it covered!

He originally came off of a ranch in west Texas where he was used for all aspects of ranch work. He was also used for barrels, poles, playday events, and was even backed in the box on the heel side. He then went on to be the mount some kiddos would use to learn to ride and have fun on.

Vaquero rides bareback, english or western, picks up both leads, has a good woah, neck reins or direct reins, goes through water and rough country, rides alone or in groups the same, handles new places well, loads/trailers like a champ and backs out calmly for unloading, stands to be bathed and saddled, easy to bridle, and picks up all four feet.

He is safe for beginners but he is not a dead head and can have some speed so he will not be for a super timid rider. Vaquero will track anything and everything all day long around the arena or in the pasture. Perfect candidate for a breakaway pony. His pole pattern is a bit rusty due to not having done it in awhile but he does still swap leads between them. The highest he’s ever jumped is 2’6” and we fully believe he could go higher with ease.
