Hello, My name is Arryssa Brown and I am looking for a position working as a ranch hand/horse groom. I am a 23 year old single women. My love for horses started with my first riding lesson when I was 8 years old. My trainer called me the "horse whisperer". When I wasn’t taking lessons she’d allow me to come on off days and help her with her daily chores. I was also used as an "example rider" for other students. A few weeks after graduating as a medical assistant I went to work at Hanover Shoe Farms as a yearling groom. I was put in charge of teaching etiquette to 6 yearlings straight from the fields going to auction for 8 weeks. After the auction we had winter prep which included barn maintenance. Painting the barns, cleaning and prepping stalls for the mares. I had to catch retired racehorses for vets and farriers. Brought in brood mares for the winter to prepare for birthing season. Cleaned and prepped up to 20 stalls a day. During the Spring season I helped with loading mares and foals moving to outer barns and worked with over protecting/aggressive brood mares as well as providing daily care for several special needs mares. I am a hard worker, I learn very quickly and after going to Job Corps for the last year I am eager to get back to work. I am willing to learn whatever I need to make your farm a success.
