If you are looking for a gentle horse that is low to the ground and easy to get on and off of, yet stocky enough to carry an adult, take a look at Tater. He is a cute 12 year old bay gelding, 13.3 hh and heavy made with plenty of bone and the most amazing mane and tail. Tater belonged to one gentleman almost his entire life, and packed him around his ranch checking fences until the man got too old to ride. Tater is quiet and gentle with excellent ground manners, and has never offered to buck, rear, bite, kick or take off. He has been used to mainly just walk and occasionally trot, so when he is asked to lope he is a little uncertain and out of practice about it. Tater has a good handle and stops easily, and has been taught to really travel out in the pasture. He has no trouble keeping up with or outwalking the big horses. He is a pleasure to ride out in the pasture, crosses water with no problem, and isn’t spooky. Tater can be ridden out by himself or with other horses, will happily lead or follow, and doesn’t mind being separated from the group. He has also been ridden alongside the road and in traffic and isn’t bothered by it. Tater has excellent ground manners, stands quietly tied, loads and hauls well, and is good for the shoer. $2000.
