Description:
If you are looking for a quiet, gentle, safe young gelding that’s easy on the eyes, with a good foundation and a willing mind, then take a look at Stormy. He is a 7 year old gelding, coal black and with plenty of chrome, and the perfect size at 14.3 hh. He sells as GRADE. He is built very well, with a good hip, pretty head and neck and a kind eye. Stormy has been ridden on the ranch and on trails, has been ponied off of, and has also been used to push and sort cattle but has not been roped off of. Nothing bothers him or spooks him, and we have carried flags off of him and drug logs with him and he doesn’t even bat an eye. Stormy is the perfect age to take in any direction, whether you just want a nice pleasure horse, a ranch horse, or to take him to the arena and make a performance horse out of him, he has the mind and ability to do it all. He would even make a nice drill team horse. Stormy has excellent ground manners and is very personable, and will seek you out and beg for attention. My 4 year old son can safely lead him around, and Stormy will quietly pack him around the arena as well. He takes extra care when a kid is around him or on him. Stormy is laid back and rides around quietly on a loose rein, has a good neck rein and stop, and is content to walk quietly all day long if you prefer. However, he is responsive and will easily step into a trot or lope if asked. He has a naturally low headset and smooth gaits that make him very easy to ride, and he will open and shut gates. Stormy has never offered to buck, rear, bite, kick or take off, and is gentle enough for an experienced kid or an advanced beginner adult to safely ride. Due to his age I wouldn’t recommend him for a young child to ride alone unless being led or ponied by an adult, but with some more miles he will make an amazing kid horse. Stormy can be ridden out by himself or with other horses, and doesn’t mind being separated from the group. He has also been ridden alongside the road and in traffic and isn’t bothered by it.
