I bought this bosal from an individual who purchased it prior to graduation from high school in the 70’s with the idea he was going to work on a ranch. The job didn’t pan out and the bosal hung in his closet for years. I bought it as a "keeper" some time back. However, as I am on the North side of 80, my days of riding young horses is quickly passing. It was braided over a rawhide core with natural (unbleached) dark rawhide creating medium stiffness. The 5/8" mecate is 6 strands of mane hair twisted over a double horsehair core making a total of 8 strands. However it is slightly shorter---measuring 18’ 8". Its length has not been a problem for me. Hopefully it won’t be for you. $195.00 includes shipping to the lower 48.
