Description:
If you are looking for an athletic, cowy mare that you can rope off of, take to sortings and trail ride, then take a look at Chicklet. She is a 12 year old bay roan mare, the perfect size at 14hh, and very nicely built with a good hip, beautiful head and neck and a kind eye. Her tail was eaten off by a colt last year but is steadily growing back. After we pulled her colt, we sold her to some friends of ours for their older grandchildren, but they have recently moved out of state so sadly she is back up for sale. The video and pictures are from July of last year but she looks and rides the same, except with about 6 inches more tail. Chicklet is extremely well bred, AQHA registered as “Magic Beans” #5141991. Chicklet is bred to be catty and have a ton of cow sense, and she won’t disappoint in either category! Chicklet had some cutting training when she was younger and then has spent the majority of her life being used on a ranch for all phases of ranch work, including roping and gathering cattle in the pasture, sorting pairs, and tagging and doctoring calves. She has also been to many team sortings and has even played around at some playdays and carried the flag in grand entries. Chicklet is gentle and safe, with a good mind and a friendly disposition, but when it is time to work she gives it her all. She has a ton of heart and try, and enjoys working cattle. She is not mare-ish and can be turned out with mares or geldings with no problem. Chicklet is gentle and and never offered to buck, rear, bite, kick, or take off, and she is light mouthed and responsive. She is an excellent ranch horse and pleasure horse, but has the athletic ability to excel in team sorting or an other performance arena you choose. Chicklet is a pleasure to ride out in the pasture, crosses water with no problem, and isn’t spooky. She has an excellent handle, will sidepass, work a gate, and moves off your leg. She knows how to travel out in the pasture and can keep up with the big horses, what she lacks in size she makes up for in try. Chicklet is good on the end of a rope, very patient and forgiving of her riders mistakes, and will really watch a cow. She can be ridden by herself or in a large group of horses with no problem. She will leave the group willingly and will happily lead or follow. Chicklet has also been ridden along the side of the road and in traffic and is not bothered by it.
