Description:
Ronan is a cute black gelding, 14.2 hh and black as two feet down a stove pipe. He is the type of horse that can sit for weeks, then you can throw a saddle on him and hop on and not have to worry about getting bucked off. He has been a slave on a ranch his entire life and has been ridden more miles than most horses will ever see in three lifetimes. Ronan is 16-17 years old and GRADE but you wouldn’t know it to ride him. He travels out nicely and will go when you ask him, but has a nice smooth jog and comfortable rocking horse lope that are very easy to sit to. Ronan has been used on the ranch for all phases of ranch work, including sorting pairs, roping and doctoring cattle in the pasture, and checking fence. He is an excellent horse for a weekend rancher who just wants something safe to saddle up and check cattle on, or for an experienced youth who wants something to learn to rope off of. Ronan is a pleasure to ride out in the pasture, crosses water with no problem, and isn’t spooky. He has a very good handle and would make a nice playday horse or even a drill team horse. He can be ridden out by himself or with other horses, and doesn’t mind being separated from the group. He has also been ridden alongside the road and in traffic and isn’t bothered by it. Ronan has always been roped to be caught so he can be hard to catch in a large pasture and is a little nervous until you get a halter on him, but once you do he has very good ground manners. I have owned this horse for close to a year and he is ready to go to a new family. Ronan stands quietly tied, loads and hauls well, and gets along with all other horses.
