Vegas is a very sensible and safe ranch and mountain trail horse with a great mind, disposition and has been started right. He has been on our ranch since he was a 2-year-old and we have brought him along nice and slow, never pushed hard but has been exposed to a lot. He is well started with handling a rope, will log and pull from the horn, ridden on mountain trails in the North Absaroka and Washakie Wilderness west of Cody Wyoming and is very safe and sure footed. He’s trailed and gathered cattle, good to hobble, high line, pack and always good to catch, tie, bathe, shoe, saddle, bridle, load and haul. Never, EVER, cold backed or offered to buck - NO NONSENSE or BAD HABITS! This is a very gentle and athletic coming 5 year old gelding, due to his young age we would not recommend him as a kid’s horse. We rate him as a #3 and haven’t found much that bothers this young gelding. He will fit well for anyone who wants a good looking, gentle, trail or ranch horse with solid foot and bone. He was started in a snaffle bit using natural horsemanship, also rides well in a light transition bit or hackamore/bosal. Moves softly off foot and leg pressure, is very light, responsive and well on his way to be a real bridle horse. Lopes nice collected circles in both leads, good lateral and vertical flexation. If you like a horse that travels out with a real ground covering walk, a very smooth moving horse with excellent conformation that always watches where he puts his feet, Vegas has all that and more. He has all the heart and try you could ever ask for in a horse along with a mind that will be able to handle a lot of pressure. He’s a quiet, coming 5-year-old, will go all day for you and has that dark steel grey color that is hard to find. Vegas will be showcased in a special preview round pen demonstration Thursday evening May 9th, 2019 before he sells at the 2019 Cody Horse Sale in downtown, Cody, WY.
