Description:
If you are looking for a stout, well built gelding to pack you around the ranch or on trails, one you don’t have to worry will buck you off or act silly, then take a look at Rio. He is a 14 year old gelding, 15.1 hh with a big hip, wide chest and plenty of bone. He has been hauled all over Texas to various ranches and state parks on full day and multi-day trail rides, and he is always a fun ride. He has been roped off of in the pasture and has sorted cattle in the pens. Rio is gentle with no buck, rear, bite kick, or other bad habits. He has been taught to travel out and cover some ground in the pasture, and isn’t one you have to pedal along every step. He is very sure footed and will go up, over or through anything you point him at. Rio is a pleasure to ride out in the pasture, crosses water with no problem, and isn’t spooky. He has a good one handed neck rein, stops and backs easily, will work a gate and move off your leg. Rio can be ridden by himself or with a large group of horses with no problem. He will leave the group willingly and will happily lead or follow. He has also been ridden alongside the road and in traffic and is not bothered by it. Rio has excellent ground manners, stands quietly tied, and is easy to load, haul, and shoe. He has a bump from an old injury on the inside of his left knee, but is does not bother him.
