Description:
We are seeking a Head Wrangler/Head of Horse Operations at Tumbling River Ranch. As Head Wrangler, you will provide excellent customer service to our guests by maintaining healthy horses and providing a safe riding environment, as well as supervising the wrangler staff.

What will your job look like?

• You manage the operations for the all activities related to the horses on the ranch, including employee supervision.

• You are responsible for oversight of the routine care of the horses including grooming and feeding.

You and your team saddle and unsaddle horses, adjusting equipment to accommodate each guest.

• Lead guests (including kids) on a variety of rides.

• You supervise and maintain cleanliness of stables and perform trail maintenance as needed for trail safety.

• Have a sense of comfort navigating miles of wilderness

• Administer first aid care when needed

• Teaching basic riding skills & horse care to guests

• General ranch chores: fencing, picking up rocks, loading hay, scooping poop, etc.

• Assist with the Kids Program

• Entertain/Interact with guests in all settings

• Participate in hayrides, square dances, and staff shows

• Work proficiently & kindly with your team

• Help in other departments when needed

These are the qualifications we are looking for:

– You have a high school diploma, or equivalent.

– You must have supervisory experience working in a ranch or stable.

– You have demonstrated knowledge of horsemanship skills.

– You are knowledgeable about safety standards and equipment used in horse care.

– Previous experience with novice riders is a plus.

– Your communication and customer service skills are superb.

– You can safely lift up to 50 pounds. You are a hard worker/able to work long,

sometimes varied hours

-Good at building one on one relationships with guests

-Positive attitude, you love kids, and service

-You enjoy working on a team and jumping to help the collective team

Years of Experience preferred: 2 years

Minimum Age: 21 years of age

Terms of Employment: Full-time position. Summer season: Grant, CO at Tumbling River. Winter season: Monte Vista, CO Hay ranch.

Salary: competitive salary - plus room & board. Other incentives are available.
