Description:
Opie is a darling registered Haflinger gelding that is extremely gentle, safe and kind. He’s cowboy cool looking... stout made with huge bone and a big solid foot. He has that awesome haffie disposition and is quiet enough to put your kids or your grandma on. He is really broke and is soft in the face, carries his head level, neck reins, pivots, side passes, picks up his leads, lopes nice circles and stops great. He goes on a loose rein and jogs and lopes incredibly smooth. He is super easy to ride and a joy every time you step on him. He’s great to use on the ranch for all tasks needed including gathering, penning, dragging calves to the fire, drive cattle up the allies, loading trucks and ponying colts. He’ll side pass and open and close gates with ease. He’s perfect to go prowl pastures looking for strays or to check fence lines. He’s been used at junior rodeos to move bucking stock, push the roping cattle up and push bucking bulls back to the gates. We’ve started tracking and roping the sled and live cattle. He’ll track right in behind one and shows a lot of interest. He’s gonna make a really cool rope horse finished out. He’s really fun to take on trail rides. He’ll go anywhere through brush, across water, up and down steep hills, over logs and bridges and down the road. He’ll ride out alone just as good as he will with a group. If you want a fancy out of the ordinary gelding that is broke to death, super safe, gorgeous and has athletic ability then here he is. Opie had absolutely no bad habits or vices. He stands for the farrier, ties, bathes, loads and hauls with ease.
