Six was born and raised on the Legendary 6666 Ranch in Guthrie Texas, and was used on the ranch for many, many years. He carries their brands and even at 18 years old he is still one heck of a nice horse. He is broke the way one should be and is gentle for just about anyone who can hold the reins. Six is good minded, kind, and dependable, the same horse every time you ride him. He is gentle and stays that way, even if he is only ridden a couple times a month, or a couple times a year. He has absolutely no buck in him, and has never offered to rear, bite, kick or take off. Six has an excellent set of manners and loves to be ridden. He is 14.3 hh and stout enough to carry a man, although he needs to gain some weight. When we bought him he was just thrown out to pasture and was wormy and needed his teeth floated, but we have done that and now he is steadily gaining weight. Six has a running walk and can keep up with the younger horses all day long, and would be the perfect horse for a youth that wanted to help dad on the ranch or for a rancher who just wanted a safe horse to check fence and work cattle with. Six is an excellent trail horse and enjoys a nice leisurely ride out in the pasture too. Six has a little arthritis in his back leg, but he doesn’t let it stop him. He happily will work all day long and can even outwalk a lot of the big horses, although he may do it with a little give in his back end when he gets tired. Six has been used for all phases of ranch work, including sorting pairs, roping and doctoring cattle in the pasture, and dragging calves to the fire. He is honest, quiet, and dependable, and nothing bothers or spooks him. Six has a good handle and stop, a smooth trot and nice lope, and plenty of go when you need it. He is a pleasure to ride out in the pasture, crosses water with no problem, and isn’t spooky. He can be ridden out by himself or with other horses, will easily lead or follow, and doesn’t mind being separated from the group. He has also been ridden alongside the road and in traffic and isn’t bothered by it. Six is easy to catch, load, haul and shoe, he stands quietly tied and gets along well with other horses. $2500.
