If you have been looking for the perfect paint gelding, one that is flashy, well broke, gentle enough for the entire family to enjoy but also handy enough to go do a job on, then take a look at Cassanova. He turns heads everywhere we take him, with his beautiful markings and gentle disposition. Cassanova is a stout 13 year old black and white paint gelding, 15 hh and approx 1150 pounds with a big hip, plenty of bone, and a pretty head with a kind eye. He is extremely broke and quiet, and has done so many different things in his life that nothing at all bothers him or spooks him. Cassanova has papers but we were not able to get a hold of them, so he is selling as GRADE with no chance of us getting his papers. He is safe and gentle for just about anyone, with no buck, rear, bite, kick or other bad habits. No horse is perfect, but this one is pretty close! He is a total gentleman on the ground, with a sweet, friendly nature. Cassanova has spent the majority of his life on a ranch out in West Texas, where he was used for all phases of ranch work, including sorting pairs, roping and doctoring cattle in the pasture, and checking fence. We have ponied colts off of him and they can literally climb all over him and it won’t bother him. Cassanova is stout, tough, and could pull a house down if you asked him to. He is strong to the horn and good on the end of a rope, never getting excited or upset when working cattle. He has also carried the flag in grand entries and the noise, lights and chaos don’t bother him one bit. But Cassanova also enjoys just a leisurely ride down the trails and would be perfectly content as someone’s trail horse and best friend. He is laid back and quiet, yet responsive, and will adjust himself to the level of his rider. He will not take advantage of a less experienced rider and will step up his game for someone who really knows what they are doing. Cassanova is broke to death, with an excellent one handed neck rein, a great stop, and will do nice rollbacks. He will sidepass and work a gate and has wonderfully smooth gaits that are easy to sit to. He is a pleasure to ride out in the pasture, crosses water with no problem, and isn’t spooky. Cassanova can be ridden out by himself or with other horses, and doesn’t mind being separated from the group. He has also been ridden alongside the road and in traffic and isn’t bothered by it. We have hauled him all over and he is always the same quiet horse everywhere we take him. Cassanova has excellent ground manners, stands quietly tied, gets along great with other horses, will load in any type of trailer you ask him to, and saddles and bridles easily. He is easy to catch, load, haul and shoe. $8500. Cassanova has been vet checked and is sound with no issues.
