Harlan is ready for any job you ask of him!! He is soft in the bridle, easy to ride, and lots of fun!! Harlan is the kind of guy that likes a job and he looks good doing it!! Harlan has been used all over the ranch. We have used him to gather cattle, sort cattle, get gates, obstacles and trail rides. Harlan crosses creeks, goes through the brush, over logs all with ease. Harlan has the body control and training to go to the show pen. Harlan has multiple first and second places in ranch conformation, ranch pleasure and trail classes. He performs obstacles such as going over the tarp, through the hanging noodles, over the culvert pipe, log drag, over the bridge, get the mail, go through the tires, and throw ropes off of him. Harlan helps with many jobs around the ranch including colt starting. He is calm as he ponies the young horses and helps to teach them to lead and yield to pressure. Harlan’s body control, neck reining and leg cues are helpful to easily maneuver the young colts around. He is a solid horse that helps with the colt starting process. If you need help mounting don’t worry, Harlan will come over to the mounting block to pick you up!! Harlan has been ridden by riders from age 9 to 70. Harlan is ready to go to work! Ranch riding, western pleasure, trails, obstacles, and having fun! Harlan is a sweet willing partner and he loves the attention!! He can cover some ground or just relax and enjoy the ride. He has been riden by himself and in groups. Harlan is good for the farrier, and vet. He has no vices. Harlan knows a hard day’s work but also enjoys the easy days as well. He has been used both in and out of the arena. Harlan is easy to ride as he neck reins, knows leg cues, follows your seat, ground ties, comes to the mounting block, performs obstacles, trail rides and works cattle.
