If you are looking for a good, safe pony for a little cowboy or cowgirl, then take a look at Fern. He is the cutest grey gelding, 13hh and full of personality. Fern is a half Caspian gelding, 14 years old, with a sweet dished face and very kind eyes. He is safe and gentle, with plenty of go for a little kid that is ready for it, and big enough that mom could hop on him and ride him if she needed to. Fern comes walking up to you and will stick his head in the halter for you, and will stand quietly for to be painted, get a bath, or just be loved on by the kids. He has no bad pony habits, has never offered to buck, rear, bite, kick or take off, won’t rub your kid off on a fence or run him under a tree, and acts more like a horse than a pony. Fern has been ridden on the ranch and pushed cattle, he has given lessons to kids, has been ridden both English and Western, rides bareback with a halter, and has jumped, carried a flag and done obstacles. He is game for anything you throw at him. Fern has a very good neck rein, will direct rein, is good on both leads, and stops easily. He rides good in the arena but loves to ride outside, and can even outwalk the big horses. He has been taught to move out and cover some ground, and would make an excellent ranch pony for a kid wanting to go help granddad work cattle. Fern will go up, over or through anything you point him at, and nothing scares him. He would make a great little playday horse or rodeo horse with the right training. He can be ridden out by himself or with other horses, and doesn’t mind being separated from the group. He has also been ridden alongside the road and in traffic and isn’t bothered by it. Asking $4,000. He has excellent ground manners, stands quietly tied, and is easy to catch, load, haul and trim. He recently had feet, teeth and coggins done so he is ready to go.
