Description:
2010 AQHA dark bay gelding. 14.3hh and stout. Born and raised on the Mahlstedt Ranch in Montana. I’ve owned him for 3 years. We’ve roped the smarty both heading/heeling off him, roped the breakaway dummy, and pushed steers up the alley. Used to gather loose cattle. He trail rides and goes where you point him. Up/down hills, brush, water, etc. He goes out alone or in groups, doesn’t care if he’s in front, middle, or the back. He’s had bull whips cracked off him. He has a good handle and a nice whoa. More whoa then go.. but he’ll work all day if you need him too. He just would prefer to go slower if it were up to him. He runs a pretty barrel pattern but lacks the speed/desire to want to really do that. He’s fun to jump on bareback and go for a ride too. Good bone/feet. No health or soundness issues. Easy keeper! He’s built to last. Friendly personality and easy to handle. He can sometimes be “watchy” so I’d think an intermediate/experienced rider would suit him best out on trails. I’ve had beginners on him in arena. He’d make a great ranch horse, team penning/sorting, or even a reining prospect. Please call or text for more information 231-250-2338
