We love those hard to find horses that are not only gentle for anyone to get on, but are also very useable and know how to carry out a long days work or ride! And “Joey” is just that kind of guy. He is a 10 year old strawberry roan gelding that stands 15 hands, he has a kind eye and a laid back personality making him a pleasure to ride and be around! “Joey” is a tried and true ranch horse, he has had many different people use him for day work and knows all of the ins and outs of what it takes to get the job done. He has been used to doctor lots of cattle, has drug bulls into the trailer, driven calves to water, sorted in the feed yard - amongst many other things. However with that said, he is as gentle as the day is long. He has no buck, rear, bite, kick, etc. Nothing startles this guy, he is not spooky in the slightest bit whether it’s flags, barking/charging dogs, cars, atvs, you name it. “Joey” has seen a lot of trail miles as well, he’s been ridden in the deserts of eastern New Mexico, in the hills and trees of Central Texas, and is also fantastic in rocky terrain, and crosses water with no hesitation at all. In the arena he rides just as good! Has a nice easy trot, and a smooth lope - picks up both leads with no hesitation and lopes good circles. Side passes, works gates, has a good stop and back up. ”Joey” has a true one handed neck rein, he goes right where you point him. All of “Joey”s experience and training makes him ideal for any kind of rider in any sort of discipline or situation. Whether you’re wanting to use him on the ranch, take him down the trails, or anything else for that matter, you’ll know “Joey” is going to take care of you. He stands quiet to be groomed, saddled, mounted, bathed. Picks up all 4 feet with ease, Loads and unloads - backs out of a trailer great. Will stand tied all day without making a noise. “Joey” is very civilized and easy to be around and get along with. Wherever this horse goes he is an eye catcher, and i can see why, he’s absolutely gorgeous and put together like a horse should be. He is sound, sane, healthy, and up to date on all care.
